The Howden Melrose Sevens is delighted to announce that Cairnhill, the Scottish ‘Steel Solutions’ specialist, will continue as the official sponsor of the iconic Grandstand at The Greenyards for the 2026 tournament. This renewal further strengthens a valued partnership and highlights Cairnhill’s ongoing commitment to supporting one of the most historic and celebrated events in Sevens Rugby.

Cairnhill will once again be the main jersey sponsor of the Melrose Rugby 1st VII for the Melrose 7s and throughout the King of the Sevens campaign. As the squad competes across the prestigious circuit in the lead-up to Melrose, the Cairnhill brand will be prominently represented at tournaments across the Scottish Borders, reinforcing its connection to grassroots and elite sevens rugby alike. A new Cairnhill-branded passing cage will be on show during the 7s events, underlining their commitment to enhancing both Minis and Juniors rugby locally, and encouraging children into sport.

The continued backing of Cairnhill ‘Steel Solutions’ Stand ensures that Cairnhill remain at the heart of the Howden Melrose Sevens experience at the Greenyards, offering supporters an unrivalled view of the fast-paced action and electric atmosphere that defines the event. This renewed partnership reflects a shared commitment to excellence, and the enduring spirit of rugby sevens, with both organisations proud to play their part in delivering another memorable chapter in the story of the Melrose Sevens.

Melrose Rugby General Manager Doug Crawford shared his thoughts:

“I’m delighted Cairnhill Steel Solutions will be the main sponsor for the Grandstand and our 1st VII jerseys once again. Neil Watson is a passionate supporter of club rugby across Scotland and fully supports our ambitions for the Howden Melrose Sevens. It’s been brilliant to have Cairnhill’s backing, and I look forward to welcoming them to the Greenyards on the 23rd of May.”

Neil Watson, Group CEO of Cairnhill, added:

“We are honoured to be able to support Melrose again this year, and be part of this historic event, the original home of rugby sevens. Cairnhill has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Melrose RFC, and we like nothing better than sharing in the goal of making sport accessible to everyone. Good luck to everyone competing in the competition. We hope you enjoy the Melrose 7s experience, it’s a very special place.”
