Ukrainian Bridges
Cairnhill was appointed by Dogus UK to supply and manufacture steel girder beams, perform stud welding, and apply protective surface coatings for the replacement of bridges in Vyshhorod and Makariv, where the original bridges were destroyed during the conflict in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Forth Road Bridge
After a major structural fracture was discovered, Cairnhill was awarded a £3.6m contract to design, fabricate, and install new truss end links to enable the bridge’s safe reopening. The works replaced the damaged elements with a bespoke sliding bearing system, providing a durable long-term solution with minimal disruption.
Otley Bridge Footway Cantilever Steelwork
Cairnhill was appointed by Balfour Beatty to manufacture and install a new steel footbridge alongside the historic Otley Bridge, a landmark structure dating back to 1229. Regent Street Flyover
The Regent Street Flyover refurbishment was a £1.5m infrastructure project delivered under significant contract constraints within Leeds City Centre. Cairnhill provided the complete structural steelwork solution, successfully fabricating, surface-coating, and installing large-scale plate girders to meet demanding timescales.
Sodom Bridge
In 2019, Cairnhill were contracted to design, fabricate, and install the 122-tonne Sodom Bridge within a demanding 10-week contract. Manufactured in the Sun Works site, Coatbridge, the project involved complex bearing spans and a safety-critical installation, successfully delivered to meet BAM Nuttall’s specifications.
