Penstock Spool Section

We are in the final stages of completing the new penstock spool section for the Drumjohn Hydro Power Plant. Currently sitting at 5 metres long and 2.4 metres wide, it will also have expansion joints and adapter flanges fitted to it onsite, along with the new access hatches and drain valves. It’s weighing in at neat 9 tons and awaiting its specialised coating for final completion and then delivery.

This addition to the pipeline will ensure easy access for future inspections, and further ROV tests are being done to find a more robotic solution in an attempt to keep people out of harm’s way in the future.
