Structural Steel Design Awards 2026

Last Thursday, our Managing Director, Steven Hendry and Group Services Director, Paul Denning were delighted to attend the BCSA – British Constructional Steelwork Association’s 58th Structural Steel Design Awards 2026 on behalf of Cairnhill, following our nomination for the Ukrainian Bridges Project, delivered last year.
We were proud to receive a commendation from the SSDA’s panel of judges, who commented: “An object lesson in ‘bridge building’ in most senses of those words, this project has enormous physical, social and emotional significance to the communities that it reconnects. UK Government funding, British fabrication, Turkish engineering and Ukrainian technical delivery operated seamlessly and the teamwork was exemplary. A remarkable achievement.”
This recognition is a significant achievement for Cairnhill and reflects the dedication and expertise of the incredible teams involved in delivering the Vyshhorod Bridge in Kyiv, Ukraine.
We would also like to recognise the invaluable contributions of Ukrainian State Road Research Institute and DOĞUŞ İNŞAAT VE TİCARET A.Ş., whose collaboration helped make this project possible.
