World Steel Day 2026

As we mark World Steel Day, it’s a great opportunity to highlight some of the work we’re currently delivering at Cairnhill.

One of our current key projects at our Sun Works site involved the fabrication of steel girders for a major nuclear power client – including six pairs of braced plate girders, weighing at 45 tonnes and spanning a total length of 32 meters. Fully fabricated and painted in-house, this project reflects both the scale and technical expertise within our team, as well as our commitment to delivering high-quality steelwork.

As we continue working across the sectors we operate within, we are proud of the path we’ve built within the steel industry. Whilst maintaining our core strengths, we have evolved alongside other industries, ensuring steelwork remains a key part of Scotland’s critical infrastructure.

Today is a chance to recognise the wider steelworker community, whose expertise ensures the industry remains prevalent, resilient, and integral to today’s society.
