Campbeltown
We carried out repair works on OPA Campbeltown Tanks 8 & 9, completely refurbishing the tanks and bringing them back into service.
Campbeltown tanks were around 60 years old and were deemed unfit for purpose. Cairnhill’s specialist design should now give another expected lifecycle of circa 25 years of service.
We deployed a specialist tankage site team, consisting of 12 individuals, a dedicated project manager, and a site supervisor collectively giving over 100 years of working experience.
Our Storage Tank Division have spent four years working at Campbeltown, as Sub-contractors on a specialist overhaul of out-of-service fuel storage tanks for the OPA, and MOD as the parent company.
We have provided specialist design to enhance the re-fueling of naval warships and bring two tanks back to working service condition. By collaboration, we have now managed to increase the lifecycle for circa 25 years.
We have provided full removal of existing steel shell work and replenished it with our carefully designed steel infills. Negating the need for hydrostatic and/or gas testing by the inspection methods deployed.
Due to the sensitivity of this project and being part of the works for the MOD, no further details can be shared for this project.
