Repair of Bailey Bridge at James Watt Dock

A bonnie day for some true Cairnhill craftsmanship – this one being brought back to life.

Last week, our Metalwork Division successfully completed the repair of the Bailey Bridge at James Watt Dock, Greenock. Like all structures, this one had weathered a few storms in its time and needed a little help back onto solid footing. With a quick turnaround period, this project involved the stripping of existing surfaces, the replacement of damaged sleepers, the fitting of new marine ply timber, and the placement of new durbar surfaces to maintain its path of future crossings.
