Meet The Team Series : February

This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Rikki Moir, one of our Commercial Managers with over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. Rikki’s career began as an apprentice Building Technician before specialising in Quantity Surveying and completing his BSc degree – laying solid foundations that have supported a varied professional journey.

Over the years, Rikki has seen construction from every angle, working client-side, for main and specialist contractors, and consultancy roles. From civil engineering and SFS to steel manufacturing, his range of experience gives him a wider view to navigate the complexity of the commercial landscape.

Since joining Cairnhill in 2022, Rikki has become a key figure of the commercial team. Managing multiple projects with ease, he ensures contracts are watertight, negotiations balanced, and payment applications progress smoothly. Amongst the projects he’s contributed to, Hinkley Point C is definitely his standout. As part of Europe’s largest construction project, Rikki has taken pride in its scale and complexity, knowing that Cairnhill’s work plays a vital role in maintaining the plants’ safe operations.

Highly experienced, reliable, and approachable, Rikki is always ready to step in when needed – making him a true team player. Outside of work, Rikki is a family man, a devoted car enthusiast – especially when it comes to his Lexus – an explorer of new places, and a practical hand at DIY projects.
