Men’s Health Week

This week, Cairnhill is proud to highlight Men’s Health Week, taking the opportunity to focus specifically on the well-being of the men who keep our industry moving.

The nature of our work can become physically demanding, with long hours, intense labour, and working within high-risk conditions.
As a result, we are mindful of its long-term impact and want to ensure that their health, focus, and safety remain our priority. However, Cairnhill does not only recognise the value in physical strength, but also in mental endurance. As such, we are committed to creating a culture that not only acknowledges our team’s health but actively supports their needs.

As part of this commitment, we have begun to implement the following initiatives that allow our team to feel safe and supported:
- Reinstating Our Onsite Gym – Aiming to support physical fitness and encourage mental clarity, our workout facilities provide space to recharge and de-stress in between shifts.
- Picnic Benches – Simple but meaningful, this new addition will encourage our team to step back, take a breath, and have a conversation that could make all the difference.
- Breakout Spaces – Creating quiet areas designed to relax, reflect, and take a moment away from the noise.
- Mental Health First Aider Training – Empowering our team with the knowledge and tools to recognise the signs of someone struggling, and encouraging them to have open, judgement-free conversations.
- Mental Health Counselling – When in need of further support, confidential and qualified help is available to assist.
At Cairnhill, we believe that supporting one another is part of the job. So, let’s keep showing up and speaking out, and remember that showing emotion is what makes us human.
