Entering into its final phases, Cairnhill is proud to have supported the successful completion of the Otley Bridge Project in West Yorkshire – part of Leeds City Council’s program to replace the deteriorated footway and maintain vital connectivity to the town.

Working in collaboration with Balfour Beatty plc, WSP, and Sarens, our team delivered the fabrication, coatings, and installation of a new pedestrian cantilever walkway bridge spanning the River Wharfe.

This complex, seven-span structure – measuring 84 meters and integrated with the historic stone bridge originally built in 1229 – showcases precision engineering through ultra-slender plate frames, fabricated RHS sub-structures, and a high-performance coating system. Delivered under tight tolerances, night-working, and strict traffic and river constraints, the project reflects the strength and collaboration required to deliver modern infrastructure within a historic setting.
